about us
Read below to learn more about how Goodchap’s strive to be as eco friendly as possible, weather that be through organising beach cleans or using sustainably sourced ingredients and plastic free packing
plastic
free
Due to the production of disposable plastic products and packaging, plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues of our lifetime. This is why Goodchap’s is on a mission to help our customers use as little plastic as possible. We have gone plastic free with all of our products and packaging. Our dog treats and chews come in compostable and recyclable cornstarch pouches. All of our toys are hand made from plastic free materials, and our gifts, for both human and hound, are all packed in plastic free ways that use plants not plastic!
locally
sourced
Keeping it local is a great way or reducing your carbon paw-print, simply as it has less distance to travel. This means there are less vehicles on the road, less ships on the ocean and fewer planes in the sky.
Not only do we source our fish and meat from sustainable British sources, but we also get our packaging printed and made locally. With just a stones throw worth of travel, between us, the manufacturers of our cardboard and the printers we use for our packaging, we can be sure that fewer emissions go into producing our products.
sustainably
sourced
Overfishing has caused significant harm to marine life for many years, which is why all of our natural, healthy fish-based treats are sustainably sourced from trusted British fish merchants. Most of the fish we use comes from the human food industry, meaning we utilise offcuts—like fish skin—that would otherwise go to waste.
We’re also committed to reducing the environmental impact of factory farming, so we only use sustainably sourced, human-grade British meats, carefully selected from local suppliers. By choosing high-quality fish and meats that produce fewer carbon emissions than conventional options, we ensure our treats are not only nutritious for your dog, but they’re also better for the planet.
bleach &
dye free
Most processes used for colouring and bleaching textile are toxic, and these toxic chemicals end up in the waterways once they’re washed away. This is not only harmful to the earth and its wildlife, but also to us and our pets. This is why all of our dog rope toys are hand made from 100% natural cotton that has never been bleached or dyed. This also means that our toys retain more of their natural strength, as their fibres have not be damaged with toxic chemicals.
beach
cleans
After the success of Treat a Dog in Need, our campaign in which we donate treats to a shelter for every pack of treats that you purchase, we decided it was about time we launched a similar project to help the environment.
Our award winning rope toys help clean up our coast: for each one sold, we donate towards beach cleanup efforts across the UK. Please follow the link below to learn more about this unique campaign.
